BANK TO OPEN 2ND ROANOKE BRANCH

First National Bank of Rocky Mount will open its second Roanoke office Friday at Peters Creek and Cove roads. Worth Harris Carter Jr., chairman of the seven-branch bank, said the branch will emphasize personalized, old-fashioned banking to a wider customer base in the Roanoke Valley. Michael R. Beavers will be assistant vice president and managing officer.

The bank has had an office on Hershberger Road since 1992.
