NOT-have passed a penmanship test. But how easy is writing when the

wind is erasing? A Florida skywriter spelled out "$56 million" in

the skies over Roanoke and three other Virginia cities Thursday to

call attention to today's Virginia Lottery jackpot drawing. Jim

Butler Jr. first wrote "$56," then came back to try for the full

slogan. Amateur airport historian John Regnier said it was the first

skywriting over Roanoke since July 2 and 3, 1982, when "the Miller

Squadron," a group of stunt pilots hired by Miller Beer, performed.
