ECONOMIC GROUP GETS PLEDGE

Partnership for Progress, a nonprofit group supporting economic development in Martinsville and Henry County, said Thursday it has received a pledge of $20,000 from 5B's Inc., a new Henry County employer.

The 4-year-old organization will use the money to help companies pay for industrial shell buildings, land purchases and marketing materials. The partnership earlier gave $100,000 to 5B's, which announced plans in February for a $10 million embroidery plant expected to hire 250 workers.
