F. GEOFFREY JENNINGS has been appointed president of Frank L. Moose Jeweler Inc. in Roanoke. He succeeds HAROLD F. JENNINGS, who has been named chief executive officer.
Geoff Jennings, the grandson of the founder, Frank L. Moose, has been with the firm for 25 years, most recently as vice president.
SARAH ELLIS FLOYD has been named general manager. She has been with the company for 17 years.
FRANCIS M. JENNINGS continues as secretary-treasurer.
ARCHITECT AND ENGINEERS
ROGER L. BOHON has been promoted to vice president of Hayes, Seay, Mattern & Mattern Inc., an architectural, engineering and planning firm based in Roanoke. He is the director of the communications and information division at HSMM. Bohon, who joined the company in 1971, has held the positions of structural engineer, computer-aided drafting and design operator and manager of the CADD department before becoming assistant vice president and vice president.
BANKING
Martinsville-based MainStreet BankGroup Inc. recently appointed several key executives. JOHN HOEFERKAMP has been named vice president of electronic banking operations; PAUL BRINKER, assistant vice president of compliance; JULIE SEARS, assistant vice president of corporate taxes; RODNEY OVERBY, assistant vice president and information services manager; NANCY ERIKSON, assistant vice president and information services support manager; and MEL BOWLES, assistant vice president and audit manager. Also, MELISSA TINLEY has been named audit officer and supervisor.

CHARLES E. "CHIP" WARSAW II has joined the Roanoke office of Interstate/Johnson Lane as a financial consultant. Prior to joining the brokerage firm, he was a banker with Dominion Bankshares, now First Union National Bank of Virginia, for 15 years. For the past five years, he has worked with Paine Webber in Roanoke.
JAMES E. PEARMAN JR. of Salem, a principal in Fee-Only Financial Planning of Roanoke, has been awarded the personal financial specialist designation by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
FUNERAL SERVICES
BILL CREGGER has retired after 40 years with Oakey's Funeral Service in Roanoke. Cregger began his career with Barnett Funeral Home in Wytheville in 1952, and joined Oakey's in 1956.
HEALTH CARE
STEVEN J. MILLER of Associates in Brief Therapy in Roanoke recently has been licensed as a professional counselor. He has been with the practice since 1995 and specializes in Christian counseling and adult, adolescent and substance abuse counseling.
MELINDA LEWIS and REBECCA EVANS of the Salem Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center office of quality management have received their CPHQ (certified professional in healthcare quality) certification from the National Association for Healthcare Quality.
HOSPITALITY
JOY M. SMITH has been named director of sales and marketing for the Patrick Henry Hotel in Roanoke. She joined the hotel in 1991.
RANDY HIGINBOTHAM of Lexington has joined Humphrey Hospitality Management Inc. in Silver Spring, Md., as director of operations. He will be responsible for hotel properties in western Virginia, West Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina and Kentucky.
MANUFACTURING
JOHN EDWIN "JEB" BASSETT III has been promoted to vice president and director of wood manufacturing at Bassett Furniture Industries Inc. He will oversee production at the Bassett Table Co. and Bassett Chair Co. in Bassett, the W.M. Bassett plant in Martinsville, the juvenile furniture plant in Statesville, N.C. and the Impact division in Hickory, N.C. Bassett, who started working at Bassett Furniture in 1976, formerly was vice president and general manager of the Bassett Table Co. for nine years. MIKE PENNINGTON, who joined the company in February, will succeed Bassett as plant manager of the Bassett Table Co. He previously was plant manager at Singer Furniture Co.'s Lenoir, N.C., plant.
GARY J. LARSON has joined the A.L. Philpott Manufacturing Center in Martinsville in the newly created position of operations manager. He brings to the position more than 25 years of experience in manufacturing, technical services and development of new technologies, most recently as chief executive officer of Alpha Technologies, a consulting firm in Danville.
STUART MOORE has joined the sales team at North American Housing Corp. in Boones Mill and has been assigned a North Carolina sales territory. North American sells and manufactures modular building components to residential builders.
MEDIA
BETSY RUSSO has been named national and major accounts executive for the advertising department of The Roanoke Times. She has been with the newspaper since 1980 and has held several advertising management positions, including national advertising manager, Neighbors advertising manager and retail sales manager.
NONPROFITS
DANIEL E. KARNES has joined the Veterans Outreach Center in Roanoke as a team leader. Karnes, a licensed clinical social worker with 17 years of experience in working with veterans and their families, will be providing clinical services to veterans in addition to administrative duties.
