MORGAN'S HOME RUN CAPS RALLY

Hank Morgan's two-out three-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning capped a VMI rally and gave the Keydets a 9-7 victory over Wofford Wednesday in Lexington.

The Keydets (11-22) fell behind 7-0 after three innings before scoring a pair of runs in the fifth, one in the seventh and one in the eighth to cut the deficit to 7-4.

With one out in the ninth, VMI loaded the bases on a double and a pair of walks. Nate Shepperson scored the first Keydet run on a wild pitch. Another walk loaded the bases and Pat Abelon responded with a sacrifice fly to left field, cutting the score to 7-6, and setting the stage for Morgan's game-winning homer off Wofford (9-22) reliever Kyle Hadden. Morgan finished the afternoon with two home runs, the first of his collegiate career, and four RBI.
