COUNTY RESIDENT SAYS SHE WAS ABDUCTED WOMAN USED AS DRUG CHAUFFEUR

The men made her stop periodically so they could buy crack. They smoked it in her car but never forced her to smoke any.

A Roanoke County woman said she was abducted at gunpoint and forced to drive two men around Southwest Roanoke Wednesday night as they bought crack cocaine.

Roanoke police gave the following report:

Mary Ann Sports, 20, told police she dropped off someone from work in the 1900 block of Rorer Avenue Southwest about 11 p.m. When she stopped for a stop sign at Rorer and 19th Street, two men walked up to her car and pointed handguns at her. They demanded she open her car doors, and she complied.

One man sat on the passenger's side, and the other sat in the back. She was told to drive and ask no questions. The men also asked for all of her money.

She gave them several dollars, but the man beside her searched her pockets and found more money. He then hit her in the head with his gun. When she asked him why he hit her, he struck her again.

As she drove around Southwest, the men made her stop periodically so they could buy crack. They smoked it in her car, but they never forced her to smoke any.

When they made another stop about 4 a.m., the woman escaped. The man in the back seat was already out of the car, and the man beside her was getting out when she took off, bumping him slightly. He fell to the ground, and she sped away.

The woman called Roanoke County police when she got home, then gave city police a report Thursday afternoon.
