RESCUE SQUAD BUILDING FINISHED

The Christiansburg Rescue Squad is ready to move to its new location on Depot Street.

Construction on the new building finished recently and squad members have begun the move. The new location is expected to be operational by May 1.

According to Capt. Eddie Walters, the new building will be a big benefit to the squad. The new site will offer more space, training rooms, offices and a computer room for record keeping, he said.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Christiansburg Rescue Squad. The squad is celebrating the anniversary and the new building with special events in late May and a dedication on June 1.
