The victim said the group beat him up and held him against his will while saying he owed them money.
Three of the four people with charges remaining against them in the abduction and beating of a Botetourt County man pleaded guilty to reduced charges Tuesday in Botetourt County Circuit Court.
A fourth man was tried and convicted of assault in the same incident.
Lisa Overstreet, 40, her 19-year-old daughter, Shannon, and Danny Brickey, 25, all pleaded guilty to abduction, according to Botetourt County Commonwealth's Attorney Joel Branscom. Charges of mob violence against all three were dropped. Each was sentenced to three years in prison, but the judge gave them credit for time already served and suspended the rest of the time.
Daniel Moore, 21, in whose house the abduction took place, was convicted of assault and battery on David Underwood, Branscom said. He was sentenced to six months in jail, though all but 30 days were suspended.
Judge George Honts III dismissed other charges against Moore, including one for brandishing a firearm.
Charges stemmed from an incident in the southern part of the county in which Underwood told police he was held against his will and beaten until he could find someone to bring $200 the group claimed he owed them. Underwood called his sister to ask for the money, but she sensed something was wrong and called the police.
Charges against two other people were dismissed in February after Underwood claimed they were really trying to help him.
