A Botetourt County man was sentenced Thursday to four years in prison for robbing the Bank of Fincastle in September.
David Martin, 30, pleaded guilty in January. On Sept. 9, Martin ran into the bank, jumped over a desk and emptied three cash drawers before fleeing. He was not armed and did not speak.
About 15 minutes later, a sheriff's deputy spotted Martin, who matched the suspect's description, near the bank holding a green bag. After a short chase, Martin was arrested and the bag was found stashed under some briars with the stolen money in it.
