Benson-Phillips
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Taylor Benson of Richmond, Virginia announce the engagement of their daughter, Frances Taylor, of New York City, to Frederic Houghton Phillips, II, also of New York City, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frederic H. Phillips of Fincastle, Virginia.
Miss Benson was graduated from Collegiate School in Richmond and from Salem College in Winston-Salem, N.C. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Stewart K. Materne and the late Mr. Materne, and the late Mr. Edmund L. Benson, Jr. and the late Mrs. Frances Taylor Benson. Miss Benson is employed by Chanel, Inc.
Mr. Phillips, II was graduated from North Cross School in Roanoke and from Washington College in Chestertown, Md. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Russell G. Phillips and the late Mr. and Mrs. Donald C. Keane, all of Charlottesville. Mr. Phillips is employed by Salomon Brothers. A September wedding is planned.

Tara Louise Cantwell and Davis Williams Lincoln, Jr. are engaged and planning to be married on September 20, 1997, in Roanoke. She is the daughter of Cameron Cantwell of Weaverville, N.C. and Janet Cantwell of Asheville, N.C. She is a graduate of Roanoke College.
Davis is the son of Julie C. Allie of Roanoke, Va. Both reside in the Richmond area.
