One of several drugs seized during arrests made Saturday night by the Blacksburg police was misidentified in Tuesday's Current. The drug was MDMA, commonly called "ecstasy."
Town police arrested two men late Saturday on drug charges while on a foot patrol of Faculty Street near downtown, according to a press release.
Police charged Erik L. Turner, 21, of Staunton with two counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and possession of marijuana.
Police also charged Lee David Hunter, 20, of Gainesville, Fla., with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and possession of marijuana.
The exact amount of each drug was not immediately available, a police spokeswoman said.
Police said the arrests came after two officers noticed suspicious activity in a parked car. When the officers investigated, they saw drugs in the car and seized the following drugs: methamphetamine (commonly called "ecstasy"), hallucinogenic mushrooms and marijuana.
Both men have been released on bond.
