The sheriff is still seeking information on who the suspect really is.
The Pulaski County Sheriff's Office arrested a man Sunday night in the shooting of another man in the buttocks.
Dean Hall of River Bend Trailer Park was treated and released for the bullet wound, according to a spokeswoman at Carilion Radford Community Hospital. Sheriff Ralph Dobbins said the bullet entered and exited Hall's body.
Deputies arrested a man who first gave his name as Jeff Rollins, and later as Jeff Williams, shortly after the 8:52 p.m. call, Dobbins said.
"He is being totally uncooperative," Dobbins said of the suspect. Police are holding the man - who appears to be in his 20s - without bond in the Pulaski County Jail. Dobbins said his officers are working to confirm basic information about the man such as his name, age and address.
Dobbins said officers responded to the call and found Hall, who had been shot with a .25-caliber handgun. Hall told police that he and the suspect had a fight on Thursday about a woman and that Williams had left Hall's home uttering threats that he would return.
Police said Williams went to the trailer park Sunday and shot Hall, but that further personal information about Williams has eluded authorities. Dobbins said witnesses gave an address in New River where Williams was living, but residents there told police little.
Dobbins said anyone with information about Williams or the shooting can call the office at (540) 980-7800. Callers who wish to remain anonymous can call the Crime Line at (540) 980-7810.
