CLOSING OF OHIO PLANT WON'T ADD JOBS IN DUBLIN

Volvo GM Heavy Truck Corp. will close its Orrville, Ohio, truck assembly plant Friday as planned. The action will mean more work but is not expected to result in any hiring at the company's Dublin factory, plant manager Bill Brubaker said Monday.

The Ohio plant, south of Akron, makes 15 trucks daily and employs 473 people, 291 of whom are production workers. The Dublin plant will absorb that workload, Brubaker said.
