Pulaski native tops in U.S.

Army Capt. John Epperly, a Pulaski County native and West Point graduate, was recognized Wednesday in Lexington as the top ROTC instructor in the United States. Ann Landers sued

Homicide suspect Michael Knowles is suing syndicated advice columnist Ann Landers after she published a letter he wrote to her in which he admitted to killing his wife last year. Now, the Christiansburg man says Landers obstructed justice and slandered him by "condemning" him before trial. For details, see today's Virginia section.
