Donovan Delaney drives in three runs as the Blue Rocks win a Carolina League baseball game.
Donovan Delaney drove in three runs and Mark Quinn added a two-run homer Wednesday as the Wilmington Blue Rocks defeated the Salem Avalanche 8-2 in a Carolina League game.
Chad Gambill and David Feuerstein drove in runs to give Salem a 2-1 lead in the fourth. Wilmington tied the score on Emiliano Escandon's single in the bottom of the fourth before Delaney hit a two-run, two-out double in the fifth to take the lead for good.
Feuerstein led the Avalanche (4-9) with two hits. Starter Chandler Martin (0-2) gave up four runs on six hits in five innings.
Salem's Mike Vavrek will oppose Wilmington's Dave Sannino in the final game of the four-game series today. NOTE: please see microfilm for scores.
