Grief support in May, June

The YWCA of the Roanoke Valley will offer a six-week grief support program called Lifelines in May and June.

Two sessions will be offered if at least six people sign up. The program fee will be $35 for YWCA members and $45 for nonmembers.

One session starts May 23 and the second starts June 2, and participants must register no later than a week before the session starts. For more information, call 345-9922.

Child Abuse Council holds dinner, auction

The Child Abuse Prevention Council of the Roanoke Valley will hold its 13th annual Celebrity Night dinner and auction from 6-9 p.m. on April 24 at the Holiday Inn-Tanglewood.

Virginia Supreme Court Justice Lawrence L. Koontz and Miss Virginia Michelle Kang will speak.

Items donated by Eric Fitzpatrick, P. Buckley Moss, Greg Osterhaus, Audiotronics, Circuit City, Doe Run Lodge, Hotel Roanoke, Blue Ridge Antique Center, The Waterfront and Water's Edge, Fink's and Frank L. Moose will be up for bid during both a live and a silent auction.

YMCA offers class in CPR

The YMCA will offer a child, infant and adult CPR class from 6-10 p.m. on April 23 and 24 at the YMCA Central Branch on Church Avenue.
