The Leggett Outlet Center at Valley View Mall has changed its name and format, a result of last fall's purchase of Leggett stores by Charlotte, N.C.-based Belk.
The store, now called Tags, is part of Belk's off-price stores division. The change also means the store no longer carries irregulars and season-end clearance merchandise from the chain's department stores, said store manager Bentley Duncan.
Tags is going after the moderate-to-better price range, he said, and merchandise for the Tags division is purchased independently from that for Belk stores.
Layout of the store has changed to make it easier for shoppers to find what they need, Duncan said. Seven additional Belk and Leggett outlet centers in the Southeast will be converted to Tags stores later this spring.
