FALCONS SAY THEY WON'T PICK `DRUCK'

Atlanta wants a defensive player with the 11th overall draft choice.

One NFL team said Thursday it won't use its first-round pick on Virginia Tech quarterback Jim Druckenmiller.

The Atlanta Falcons, who have the 11th pick in this weekend's draft, and coach Dan Reeves told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that drafting a quarterback is not their priority in the first round. The team's top choice likely will be spent on a linebacker or defensive back. The Falcons probably won't use a pick on a quarterback until the middle rounds, possibly on Heisman Trophy winner Danny Wuerffel.
