Al Bundy's problems will soon but over and so will his TV show.

Fox is retiring ``Married ... With Children'' after a one-hour series finale May5. The Bundy family is held hostage by son Bud's prison pen pal and daughter Kelly falls in love with and plans to marry one of her captors.

Katey Sagal and Edward O'Neill starred as Al and Peg Bundy in the last remaining show from Fox's original lineup when the network began 10 years ago.

``I remember when Ed and I did bowling alleys to promote the show,'' Sagal said.

Ratings improved, even as the show's crude characters and lewd subject matter drew protests. Fox announced the show's retirement Friday. |--| Woody Allen is going to play it again.

The moviemaker went hunting for a new clarinet gig after his Manhattan haunt, Michael's Pub, closed. He decided on the elegant Cafe Carlyle.

Allen will perform regularly at the Carlyle with the Eddy Davis New Orleans Jazz Band, for ``as long as it feels good,'' his spokeswoman said. |--| Mary Lou Retton has given birth to a second little tumbler.

The gold-winning gymnast gave birth April 15 to McKenna Lane Kelley, a 5-pound, 9-ounce girl, her publicist said Monday.

She's the second daughter for Retton and husband Shannon Kelley.

Retton, 29, was released from a Houston hospital Saturday. Her new daughter will remain there until later this week after being born three weeks early.

Retton, who won the all-around gold medal at the 1984 Olympics, now works as a motivational speaker.
