YWCA has gift idea for Mom
Those who can't find the right Mother's Day gift might consider an offer the YWCA is making.
From 4-5 p.m. on Mother's Day, May 11, moms can take an aqua aerobics class. No experience or swim skills are required - the water is only about 4 feet deep.
Daughters and sons can join their mothers if they wish. Pre-paid tickets are $10 and cover two sessions, so mothers can take a regular class later.
Mothers who can't make it on Mother's Day can take both classes later. Regular classes are held from 11 a.m. to noon on Monday and Wednesday; from 5:30-6:30 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday; and from 4-5 p.m. on Sunday. For more information, call 345-9922.
500 expected at re-enactment

On Saturday, May 17, the re-enactors will stage a choreographed battle to demonstrate the different types of warfare used. Sunday's battle will be a re-enactment of the Battle of South Salem.
Daily admission will be $3 for ages 5 and over and free for children 4 and under. Gates will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday. For more information, call 387-6086.
