WILLARD V. SMITH

{LEAD} Willard Vannah ``Bill'' Smith, 63, of the 900 block of Monarch Drive, a retired service technician, died May 30, 1994, in Virginia Beach.

Mr. Smith was born in Portsmouth, son of the late Frances Vannah Smith and Raymond Bainbridge Smith. He was retired from Miller Oil Company after 10 years. He was a member of Bayside Presbyterian Church. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in 1954 and was a recipient of the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.

{REST} Survivors include his wife, Mary Darsey Smith; two daughters, Kimberly Supan and Michele McGuffin, both of Chesapeake; one son, Kevin Stewart of Virginia Beach; one sister, Sarah Frances Smialek of Portsmouth; one brother, Raymond Bainbridge Smith Jr. of Virginia Beach; one grandchild, Hannah Michele Supan of Chesapeake; friends Steve and Sara Gillis of Virginia Beach; numerous nieces and nephews, David and Fran Schancel of Gahanna, Ohio.

A funeral will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in Bayside Presbyterian Church, Bayside Chapel, by the Rev. Will Kiser-Lowrance and the Rev. Richard Keever. Burial will be in accordance with the wishes of the deceased. His organs and body have been donated to the Eastern Virginia Medical School. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, is handling arrangements.
