GEORGE J. JONES

{LEAD} George Julian ``Tic'' Jones of the 1700 block of Canton Ave., died May 29, 1994, in a local hospital.

Mr. Jones was born in the Berkley section of Norfolk, son of the late Louise Southall Jones and William Jones. He was a member of First Baptist Church Berkley. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 38 years and was an Army veteran of World War II.

{REST} Survivors include his wife, Marie B. Jones.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Thursday in First Baptist Church Berkley by the Rev. William Tyree 3rd. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. Thursday. The family will assemble at 1721 Canton Ave., Norfolk, at 11 a.m. Thursday for the funeral processional to the church. Metropolitan Funeral Service is handling arrangements.
