ESTIL PROFFER

{LEAD} Estil ``Hodie'' Proffer, 67, formerly of Virginia Beach, died May 30, 1994, in his residence.

Mr. Proffer was born in Kennett, Mo., and was a professional driver. He had served on the USS Olmstead during World War II.

{REST} Survivors include his wife, Barbara Proffer; daughter, Deborah Proffer of Virginia Beach; daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia Pillow and Stephen Pillow of St. Louis, Mo.; son and daughter-in-law, Paul Scott Proffer and Patricia Proffer of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Louise Schaffermier of Patterson, Mo., and Wanda Davis of Wyoming, Mich.; one brother, Charles L. Proffer of Virginia Beach; four grandchildren, Jason Pillow, Heather Pillow and Mark Pillow, all of St. Louis, and John M. Proffer of Virginia Beach; and a beloved uncle and cousin.

A memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m. today in Bow Creek Presbyterian Church by Dr. Clement A. Sydnor III. Interment will be at sea. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel, is handling arrangements.
