NEW AIRPORT MANAGER

{LEAD} The City of Suffolk has hired Joseph E. Love as airport manager for the Suffolk Airport. He will begin his duties July 1.

Currently the airport manager of Rutland State Airport in Vermont, Love is a retired Air Force officer. He served in the Air Force for 24 years, his last four years at Langley Air Force Base in Hampton.

{REST} While in the service, Love held several positions, including deputy base commander, flight operator, and computer systems analyst.

Love has had extensive aviation education and training, and a wealth of project management and supervisory experience.

In addition to his military education, Love has earned a master's degree in aeronautical science in management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and a master's degree in computer science from Texas A&M University.

A native of Dallas, Texas, he received a bachelor's degree in mathematics and history from East Texas State University.

Love and his wife, Laura, have two daughters, Jennifer, 13, and Katherine, 7.
