COYOTES PLAY TONIGHT IN DOWNTOWN FRANKLIN

{LEAD} The Cruzin Coyotes will be cruisin' over to South Main Street for tonight's downtown to-do.

We Be Jammin' Thursdays!, sponsored by the Downtown Franklin Association, will present the modern country band from 5:30 to 9 p.m.

{REST} There will be plenty to eat and drink, plus a clown for the kids.

The Cruzin Coyotes began as a weekend band, evolving into a full-time traveling regional act under the sponsorship of Budweiser.

The three-piece band covers most of country music's name acts - with chart songs made famous by such folk as Collin Raye, Little Texas, Sawyer Brown, Travis Tritt, Shenandoah, Garth Brooks and many others.

And there are the originals - items such as ``I Own the World,'' ``Chicken Pickin','' ``May the Best Heart Win'' and ``Hill Billy High.''

The Cruzin Coyotes are based in Elizabeth City. Band members are Smitty Smith of Bakersfield, Phil Monroe of Seymour, Ind., and Chris Hite of Baltimore.
