{LEAD} Suffolk police are asking for help catching the young man who snatched a woman's purse early May 20.

A 66-year-old woman was walking in a crosswalk in the 800 block of West Constance Road at about 9 a.m. when a young man rode up to her on a bicycle and snatched her blue denim purse. It contained money and personal items.

{REST} The suspect rode away, toward Suffolk West Shopping Center.

He is described as a black male in his teens wearing black sweats and a black hat, police said. He is about 5 feet 6 and about 120 pounds.
