{LEAD} About 3a.m. Wednesday residents heard a gunshot and looked out their windows to see a body fall and a black car speed away.

Left behind at Omohundro and Pennsylvania avenues was the body of Derrick R. McCoy, 35, of the 5300 block of Justin Court in Virginia Beach. McCoy, who police say was an electrician, had been shot in the face.

``I heard a pop as I was in the kitchen, and I looked out the window and saw this guy falling,'' said Regina Haskins, a resident.

Police said they have no motive or suspects but are searching for a black car, possibly a 1978-1979 Firebird or Camaro, with tinted glass that was seen speeding away.
