HONORS AND AWARDS

{LEAD} These Norfolk State University faculty members from Virginia Beach have received doctoral degrees during the current school year: Carray Banks Jr. (not pictured) received a doctorate in vocational and industrial education from Penn State; Mildred K. Fuller completed her doctorate in urban services and health services at Old Dominion University; Deborah A. Goodwyn was awarded a doctorate in English (rhetoric and linguistic) from Indiana University of Pennsylvania; and Emeka J. Okoli earned a doctorate in organizational and intercultural communication from Howard.

\ Timothy Thomas, convention sales manager of the Department of Convention and Visitor Development has been appointed to a one year term on the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International Board of Directors.

{REST} \ Sara Hensley has been named recreation administrator for the Department of Parks and Recreation. She previously served five years as director of recreation for an Illinois park district.
