ANNIE M. BOWERS

{LEAD} Annie Mae Bowers, 81, of the 2200 block of Queen St., a retired domestic worker, died June 2, 1994, in Manning Convalescent Home.

A native of Sussex County, Mrs. Bowers was the daughter of the late John and Susie Holmes Brown. She was the widow of Charlie Bowers and a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, Windsor.

{REST} Survivors include four daughters, Sadie B. Davis of Ivor, Ruby B. Rogers and Marie Bowers, both of Portsmouth, and Bernice Gwaltney of Windsor; four sons, Charlie Bowers of Surry, Fenton L. Bowers of Jersey City, N.J., Bernard Bowers and Curtis Bowers, both of Portsmouth; 18 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Shiloh Baptist Church, Windsor, by the Rev. James Elam. Burial will be in Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. James Rogers, 1315 Wirt Ave., Portsmouth. Crocker Funeral Home, Suffolk, is handling arrangements.
