ROBERT P. HOLTON

{LEAD} Robert Paul Holton, 59, a retired self-employed swimming pool contractor, died Wednesday, June 1, 1994, in Newport News.

Mr. Holton was born in Batavia, N.Y., and attended Warwick Memorial United Methodist Church. He was president of the Pool Builders Association; a member of local pool builders' groups; and past member and former director of the National Spa & Pool Association. He was a sales representative for Cover Pools Inc. and area dealer for Caretaker Systems Inc.

{REST} Survivors include his wife, ``Helen'' Jean Holton of Cambridge, N.Y.; one son, Glen Holton of Andover, N.J.; three sisters, Gloria Burns of Tonawanda, N.Y., Vivian Panzarella and Dorothy Crane, both of Loveland, Ohio. He was involved with Connections, through which he had three foster children, Nhung Van Tran, Duc N. Pham and Trung H. Nguyen, all of Newport News. He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Holton.

A service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Umphlett Funeral Home, Newport News, by the Rev. Dr. J. Stanley Hargraves. Burial will be in Peninsula Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. today. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or a favorite charity.
