RANSOM H. MCKEAN

{LEAD} Ransom Hubbard McKean, 76, of the 200 block of Belhaven Road, a retired quarterman rigger, died June 3, 1994, in a Portsmouth hospital.

Mr. McKean was a native of Morehead, Iowa. He was retired from Norshipco after 22 years and was also a retired U.S. Navy BMC with 21 years of service. He was a veteran of World War II and Korea and was a member of Fleet Reserve Association.

{REST} Survivors include his wife, Rosemary D. McKean; one daughter, Patricia M. McKee of Chesapeake; one son, Kevin M. McKean of Suffolk; three sisters; two brothers; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A private funeral will be held Sunday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. Dorothy O'Quinn. Burial will be at sea at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
