BARBARA W. HUNTER

{LEAD} Barbara Walker Hunter, 49, of Severna Park, died Thursday of cancer at North Arundel Hospital in Glen Burnie, Md.

The daughter of a career diplomat, Mrs. Hunter was born in Havana, Cuba, and lived in many cities around the world. She graduated from the Knox School on Long Island, N.Y. and Garland College in Boston, Mass. She moved to Severna Park in 1982.

{REST} A homemaker, Mrs. Hunter was interested in interior design. She also enjoyed entertaining, reading and being at the beach. She was fond of children and animals.

Mrs. Hunter is survived by her husband, retired Navy Capt. William J. Hunter of Severna Park; two daughters, Lisa S. Holcombe of Atlanta and Barbara ``Bebe'' L. Holcombe of Severna Park; her mother, Jane Walker of Virginia Beach; a sister, Jane McCray of Virginia Beach; and a brother, William W. Walker of McLean, Va.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in First Presbyterian Church in Virginia Beach by Dr. J. Scottie Griffin. Burial will be private. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
