WINFRED J. RATCLIFF

{LEAD} Winfred J. Ratcliff, 76, a resident of Norfolk for 43 years, died June 2, 1994, in a local hospital.

Mr. Ratcliff was born in Newport, Va., and retired in 1973 from the Norfolk Naval Base. He was an Army veteran of World War II, was involved in the Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes and Rhineland campaigns and received the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. He was a member of Disabled American Veterans Chapter (NU)4 and Veterans of Foreign Wars (NU)3160, Norfolk.

{REST} He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Beatrice M. Ratcliff.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Warren R. Chapman. The family will receive friends at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday.
