SYLVIA G. GREENSPOON

{LEAD} Sylvia Sheila Gordon Greenspoon, 77, of the 3100 block of Atlantic Ave., owner and operator of the Days Inn, Oceanfront, died June 3, 1994, in her residence.

Mrs. Greenspoon was a native of Cleveland, Ohio. She graduated from Baldwin-Wallace College in 1939 with a bachelor of fine arts degree in music and English. Music was Sylvia's love but business became her life. The Gordon family established Gordon Cycle and Supply in 1940. Sylvia remained with the business until marrying Albert Greenspoon and moving to Norfolk in 1957. Albert died in 1975. She was a member of Ohef Sholom Temple in Norfolk and was an active supporter of the arts in Tidewater until her death.

{REST} Mrs. Greenspoon was president of the Ocean Ranch Motel Corp., formed in 1957, which in 1988 became the new Days Inn, Oceanfront.

Survivors include a daughter, Lori Jill Greenspoon Strauss and her husband, Steven S. Strauss, of Roanoke, Va.; a son, Jack Lewis Greenspoon of Virginia Beach; a brother, Jack Gordon of Cleveland; and two grandchildren, Andrew Isaac Strauss and Rachel Alexandra Strauss.

A Chapel service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Sunday in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk, by Rabbi Lawrence A. Forman. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. The family will be at 1121 Tree Fern Drive, Virginia Beach, following the funeral services.
