SUPPORTING CLUTE

{LEAD} Staff writer Margaret Edds reported that the National Women's Political Caucus had endorsed Sylvia Clute for U.S. Senate but had not supported that endorsement with money (news, May 29). However, the local affiliate of NWPC, Southeastern Virginia Women's Political Caucus, has made a cash contribution to the Clute campaign.

Several members have also made individual cash contributions as well as volunteered time to the campaign. We support her because she is very well-qualified to serve in the U.S. Senate. She has both domestic and foreign-service experience. She is thoughtful, decent, honest and hard-working. All Virginians would benefit from her representation.

{REST} All Virginians, regardless of party affiliation, are eligible to vote in the Democratic primary on June 14. Sylvia Clute can win a race against Oliver North in November if Virginians turn out to vote for her on June 14.
