It's the first time she's ventured out in ``fitted'' clothes, and she's just a bit nervous.
{REST} ``It's like, whoa, I haven't shown this part of my body in a long time, and I'm not so sure it's not ugly,'' she says.
It's not ugly. It's great and it shows, more than even the leotard-and-tights pictures. It demonstrates the progress Owen has made in the past 10 months and the difference 63 pounds plus regular exercise can make.
``A couple of people told me I looked thinner today,'' she said, ``and that's my confirmation it's OK.''
But there's more to Owen's story this month than just the first time she's shown off her waist - this is the month she bought a new bathing suit. In a regular-sized store. One her 8-year-old daughter described in a shocked voice as ``sexy.''
Yes, she's graduated from the skirted, flowered, size 22 bathing suit into a slimming, all-black tank with a sheer inset.
She found it at her first store, tried it on and was amazed that it fit. Then she thought, ``No, this can't be right,'' and visited five more stores before returning to the first store and buying it - in a size 18.
She made sure she could return it, paid for it and brought it home to model for her husband.
He loved it. And the receipt hit the trash.
