He worked for 44 years in the fertilizer business, including 25 years with Robertson Chemical Corp. of Norfolk. He retired in 1973 after 10 years with W.R. Grace & Co., successors to Robertson Chemical Corp. He was a graduate of Maury High School and Washington & Lee University and was the widower of Betty McPherson Brock.
{REST} Survivors include two sons, Robert Gatewood Brock of League City, Texas, and Thomas Randolph Brock of Virginia Beach; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Forest Lawn Cemetery by the Rev. Warren Chapman. The family will be at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel, from 4 to 6 p.m. today.
