EDITORIALS BETTER, HEADLINES BIASED

{LEAD} It just keeps getting better and better. It's been a pleasure all month to read the editorial pages again. Today's edition - ``It's clean already'' and ``Homeless hype'' along with Another View on the welfare nonsense are clear indicators that common sense and sound judgment have returned.

Lest you get too complacent, however, the old bias was still there in your recent front-page headline trumpeting Denny's ``bias.'' Your article was quite clear that the company denied any wrongdoing, nor was it convicted of any.
