Mrs. Corprew was born in Newport News. She was a funeral directress, president and former manager of Corprew Funeral Home Inc. for 47 years. She was the widow of E.G. Corprew Sr. and was a member of St. James Episcopal Church, Portsmouth. She was also a member of Virginia Morticians Associations, National Funeral Directors & Morticians Association, Martha Chapter 10, Order of Eastern Star, Portsmouth Chapter, The Moles and L'Armantine Social Club.
{REST} Survivors include a son, E.G. ``Tip'' Corprew Jr. of Portsmouth; a sister, Pearl H. Seward of Newport News; four brothers, James W. Harris of Richmond, Robert L. Harris of Hampton, Clarence W. Harris of Newport News and Dr. William H. Harris of Portsmouth; one grandchild, Tracee N. Corprew of Portsmouth; a daughter-in-law, Beverly L. Corprew of Portsmouth and cousins, James S. Haughton and Ethel M. Weaver, both of Portsmouth and a devoted and dedicated staff.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. James Episcopal Church by the Rev. Jesse L. London. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Viewing will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday in Corprew Funeral Home. The family will be at the funeral home at 7 p.m. Friday.
