``IT'S ABOUT TIME''COMBINES DANCE, MUSIC, DRAMA AND THE VISUAL ARTS. \

{LEAD} ONE THING the Fine Arts Center wants to emphasize about ``it's about time'' is that it is a production, not a dance recital.

And, it's for a good cause.

{REST} Proceeds from the effort go to Project CREATE, the center's non-profit teaching division, which hopes to bring the arts into area schools.

``It's the desire of the organization to foster the creative arts through education and the continuation of community theater,'' said Virginia Chambers, owner of the Fine Arts Center.

The time travel presentation, ``it's about time'' offers special effects to help take the audience from the era of the dinosaur to the dawn of cosmic voyaging.

The program, to be presented at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Lakeland High School auditorium, combines dance, music, drama and the visual arts.

Some of the offerings include a scene from Tennessee Williams' ``The Glass Menagerie,'' featuring Theresa Eike and Kristin Staley.

Jenny Small and Julie Simmons appear in a scene from ``Romeo and Juliet.''

A dance highlight is a look at the future, featuring special effects lighting beamed from a ``spaceship'' with the help of a remote-controlled ``blimp.''

Special effects also will enhance ``Green Light,'' choreographed by Marilynn Danitz, an internationally known choreographer. The dance is performed with green glow lights on an otherwise darkened stage.
