V. SANFORD PARRISH

{LEAD} Vernard Sanford Parrish, 52, of 9384 Rivershore Drive, died June 8, 1994, in Sentara Hampton General Hospital.

A native of Roanoke Rapids, N.C., he was employed by Newport News Shipbuilding in the Cost Engineering Department. He was a Vietnam Air Force veteran.

{REST} Survivors include his wife, Barbara Richardson Parrish; his mother, Alice Kinker Parrish of Roanoke Rapids; two sons, Blake S. Parrish of Henrico, N.C., and Bryan Douglas Parrish of Blackstone; one stepdaughter, Neal N. Clements of Suffolk; one stepson, William R. Newman of Suffolk; two sisters, Pat P. Bryant of Courtland and Elizabeth P. Barrett of Roanoke Rapids.

He was predeceased by his father, Vernon Samuel Parrish.

A graveside service will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. in Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids by the Rev. Steve Wilson. The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m. in the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home.
