Mrs. Griffin was born in Copperhill, Tenn. She was the widow of Doyt G. Griffin.
{REST} Survivors include three daughters, Jewel Chatten of Norfolk, Mary Frances Tutor of Virginia Beach and Beatrice Lazenby of Shelby, N.C.; six sons, Douglas Griffin and Stephen Griffin, both of Norfolk, and David Griffin and Joe Griffin, both of Florida, and Gene Griffin and Harold Griffin, both of North Carolina; a sister, Mae Graham of North Carolina; two brothers, Benton White and Hobert White, both of North Carolina; 19 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
The graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Magnolia Cemetery by the Rev. James J. Kilpatrick. The family will be at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel, Thursday from 7 to 8p.m.
