Mr. Hancox was born in Titusville, Pa. He retired from the Navy after 23 years and was employed with Q.E.D. in Virginia Beach where he had been working for 11 years. He was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of Fleet Reserve Association Branch (NU)60.
{REST} Survivors include his wife, Jane A. Hancox; a son, Scott William Hancox of Norfolk; his father, Harry L. Hancox Sr. of Townville, Pa.; four sisters, Dorothy Jean Steadman, Patricia Ann Graham, Cynthia Louise Fry and Susan Green, all of Northwestern Pennsylvania; two brothers, Harry L. Hancox Jr. of Fairfield, Calif., and Jerry Dallas Hancox of Greenville, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery with military honors. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or Navy Relief Society, 7920 Hampton Blvd., Norfolk, Va. 23505.
