Mrs. Ball was born in Norfolk. She was the widow of Walter Van Buren Ball, married 61 years and had been widowed 16 years. She was a member of Coleman Place Presbyterian Church. Throughout World War II, she was employed at N.A.S. in Norfolk. After the war, until 1986, she worked with Cromwell Florist on Granby Street in Norfolk and was referred to as ``The Flower Lady'' by many people in the area.
{REST} Survivors include a daughter, Blanche B. Miller of Kill Devil Hills, N.C.; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sons, Linwood V. Ball, Walter S. Ball and Wendell M. Ball.
A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Coleman Place Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Larry C. Miles. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel, is handling arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart Fund or a charity of one's choice.
