GIBBON MCRAY EPPS

{LEAD} Gibbon McRay Epps, a native of Surry, died June 6, 1994. He was the son of the late Robert Edward Epps Sr. and Irene Hunnicutt Epps, and the widower of Edith Huber Epps. He was the husband of Elizabeth Whitehurst Epps.

Mr. Epps was the former owner, for 32 years, of Epps Farm Supply. He was a member of Bethlehem Christian Church. He was predeceased by a sister, Helen Galloway and a brother, Robert Epps.

{REST} Survivors include his daughter, Susan McRay Epps of Abingdon; an adopted daughter, Barbara Walker of Rescue; four sisters, Louise E. Neal and Alice E. Deans, both of Virginia Beach, Grace E. Peeler of Charleston, S.C., and Frances Feagan of Newport News; one brother, Williams B. Epps of Surry; and one brother-in-law, Phillip Whitehurst Jr. of Newtown Square, Pa. Other survivors include nieces, Jackie Epps, Joyce Epps, Anita Viar; and nephews David Galloway, Brian Whitehurst, and Jon Whitehurst.

Pallbearers will be Frank Rawls, Fenton Beale, Kevin Beale, Hugh L. Eure, James Walker, William Pope, and nephews, Eddie Epps, Jim Epps, Billy Epps, Hugh Epps, Jerry Peeler, Donald Neal, Bobby Neal, and Franklin Feagan.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in the R.W. Baker and Co. Funeral Home. Burial will be in Holly Lawn Cemetery.
