MAN PLEADS GUILTY

{LEAD} A man accused of holding his former girlfriend hostage last year and shooting her mother in the hand was found guilty in a plea agreement Wednesday.

Edward R. Delrosario, 21, pleaded guilty to malicious wounding, abduction, burglary and two counts of use of a firearm. According to the terms of the plea agreement, he can be sentenced to no more than 15 years in prison.

{REST} On Sept. 5, Delrosario barricaded himself in his ex-girlfriend's home in the 300 block of Louvick Street and held her hostage for several hours. He earlier had shot the girl's mother in her hand during an argument. The ex-girlfriend wasn't hurt.

The standoff was resolved after police negotiators persuaded Delrosario to surrender his gun. Delrosario will be sentenced Aug. 19.
