SEAWALL FESTIVAL PACKS 'EM IN

{LEAD} About 100,000 people attended the Seawall Festival over three days, Ports Events director Linda Lamm said.

``We figured about 25,000 were there both Friday night and Sunday and then 50,000 to 60,000 Saturday - maybe more,'' she said.

{REST} Many people are saying that this year's festival had the best entertainment lineup ever, Lamm said. People gave rave reviews to the national act, Martha Reeves and The Vandellas, as well as Black Elvis and the Jukebox Heroes.

``It was just a nice combination of different acts,'' she said.

The expanded Kiddie Karnival proved popular with continuous lines, and the only complaint was that there were not more adult rides so families could ride together, she said.

But the rides weren't the only feature of the festival that drew long lines.

``Our primary criticism was that we just didn't have enough Port-a-Johns, which means we probably had more people here than we think,'' said Lamm.

She promised there would be more next year.

``That's a necessity,'' she said.
