TRIO OF FIRST COLONIAL SENIORS REPEAT\

{LEAD} FIRST COLONIAL LED the All-Beach District girls soccer team balloting with three, three-time, first-team returnees.

Stephanie Reavis, Amy Rosenbaum and Stephanie Smith led the Patriots to a third-straight state tournament appearance in their senior seasons.

{REST} The Patriots lost in the Group AAA final last year and made it to the semifinals this season.

Cox - enjoying its most successful season in years - placed nine of its players on either the first, second or honorable mention teams.

Kempsville placed 10 of its starters on the three rosters - six making it as honorable mention members.

Individually, Whitney Cali of Green Run took player-of-the-year honors. Terri Sawyer of Cox was named by her peers as the coach of the year.

Rounding out the first team were Katie Cox, Robin Dwyer and Kirsty Hale of Cox; Kristin Cholewa and Lisa Echea of Kempsville; Melissa Hancock of Tallwood; and Julie Miller of Salem.

The Beach District's nine coaches voted on the selections.

Cali, a senior forward, led the district with 22 goals and six assists. She is a repeat first-teamer.

Reavis, a senior keeper, finished with a 1.24 goals-against-average and had six shutouts. Rosembaum, a senior forward, had 16 goals and eight assists. Smith, another senior forward, led the Patriots with 17 goals and 14 assists.

Dwyer, a sophomore forward, had 10 goals and nine assists. Hale, a junior midfielder, led the Falcons with 17 goals and six assists. Cox, a senior forward, moved up from last year's honorable mention team and had 10 goals and five assists. Hale was also on last year's first team.

Cholewa, a sophomore midfielder who moved up from last year's second team, had three goals and three assists; while teammate Echea, a senior forward, had 12 goals and three assists. Echea moved up from last year's honorable mention team because of injuries.

Despite being hurt part of the season, Miller was a force for Salem as a junior midfielder with five goals.

Hancock is the only freshman on the first team, leading Tallwood at forward with 18 goals and 10 assists.

Making up the second team are Marie Legge of Bayside; Liz Coon, Katie Etter and Cara Reske of Cox; Jenny Fentress of First Colonial; Eryn Craft and Claudia Watt of Green Run; Sheena McGloine of Kellam; Kearsten Lewis and Lauren Rafal of Kempsville; Kirstie Neidlinger, Toni Lynott and Angela Young of Salem; and Chrissy Mister of Tallwood.

Rafal is the only other freshman on the first- or second-team rosters.
