JAMES M. CURTIS JR.

{LEAD} James M. Curtis, Jr., 75, of the 1800 block of Bufflehead Drive died Wednesday at his residence.

Mr. Curtis was born in Oklahoma City, Okla., and was the son of the late James M. and Aileen Conneley Curtis.

{REST} He was a retired sanitarian with the Virginia Department of Health. He was a veteran of World War II and had retired from the U.S. Navy as a chief after 20 years of service.

Survivors include his wife, Lora Marie Curtis; his daughter, Denise Lora Curtis of Norfolk; his son, James M. Curtis III of Chesapeake; his brother, Carrol Curtis of Columbia, Md.; three sisters, Mary E. Cassidy and Kathryn Tyler, both of Tennessee, and Margaret Ann of Seattle, Wash.; and his granddaughter, Samantha Outten.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Oman Family Funeral Home, Great Bridge.
