1 OF 2 SUSPECTS ARRESTED IN WOUNDING OF BOY, 4

{LEAD} Police have arrested one of two suspects in the shooting of a 4-year-old boy Wednesday night.

Demetrius L. Pettaway, 19, of the 1800 block of Azalea Ave. in Portsmouth was arrested without incident Friday about 9:20 a.m., said G.A. Brown of the Portsmouth Police Department. Pettaway, also known as ``Meatball,'' was arrested at 1456 Barbour Drive, Brown said.

{REST} Pettaway will be arraigned Monday on charges of shooting into an occupied dwelling, malicious wounding and attempt to kill. He also faces firearms charges.

Police are still seeking Kevin A. Sherrod, 21, of the 1400 block of Effingham St, in the shooting.

Pettaway and Sherrod are accused of shooting Antonio Wiggins of the first block of Lexington Drive in Lincoln Park. Wiggins was struck in the head by one of several bullets fired into his home.

Police said the shooting stemmed from an earlier argument between the boy's father and one of the suspects at a store in the 2800 block of Columbus Ave.

Police said the two suspects followed the boy's father home and began shooting at the front door and window.

Antonio Wiggins remained in Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters on Friday night.
